Dan Orlovsky

Dan Orlovsky Bio

Dan Orlovsky already had the talent and drive to be a successful athlete when he was still young. “When I was younger, I would have garbage cans set up all around the yard,” he recalled in an interview done by your CT.com, “ And I would have like 20 balls and just fire them into the cans. I really had nothing else to do back then.”

The Natonal Football League (NFL) quarterback of the Detroit lions was born in Bridgeport, and raised in Shelton, Connecticut.

As a child, he was known for playing in the Flag and Pop Warner Football in Shelton. Aside from being active in football, Orlvosky also excelled as a pitcher in the Shelton Little League Baseball.

It was during his high school years that he officially decided to stick with and build a career out of  football. When he reached high school, he became an active football athlete for the Shelton High School.

Orlovsky had his most successful football career in college – this became his pass to be officially drafted by the NFL in 2005. As a football varsity for the University of Connecticut, he guided the team to numerous victories. He currently holds the school record for most pass completions (916), pass attempts (1,567), yards passing (10,706), touchdown passes (84), interceptions (51), total plays (1,710), and total yards (10,421).

His biggest debut in the NFL happened during the October 12, 2008 match of the Detroit Lions and the Minnessotta Vikings. During the match, he completed 12-of-21 passes for 150 yards, with 1 touchdown and no turnovers  - statistics very memorable for us fans.
