SHELTON, Conn. — Former Lions quarterback Dan Orlovsky
will have his No. 7 retired by his former high school.
Orlovsky starred at Shelton High School in 1998-2000 and was named the Connecticut Gatorade Player of the Year during his senior season.
Orlovsky went on to play quarterback for the University of Connecticut, leading the Huskies
to their first bowl appearance, a victory in the 2004 Motor City Bowl.
The Lions drafted him in 2005, and he started seven games in 2008 for the only NFL
club ever to go 0-16 in a season. He signed with the Houston Texans this off-season.
The Shelton Board of Education says the ceremony will likely be in June.
